Industry-Induced ADD is Advisor Distraction and Diversion

I also suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder. Both forms of ADD create chaos.

In this video, I’ll share an amusing story about me and the real ADD.

Does your mind stray or drift in way too many directions?

Are you on a perpetual search for more options, alternatives and answers?

Industry-induced ADD starts with information overload. There is so much to learn.

It becomes a serious issue when you develop FOMO…the fear of missing out.

That leads to TMI …Too Much Information. TMI makes it hard to think clearly.

Too many distractions, diversions and directions create mind chaos.

Flexibility fosters failure, but structure buys you freedom!

Structure has made an immense difference for me. It can also help you.

The first time I heard the great Ben Feldman give a live talk, he said:

“If you’ve got a problem make it a procedure, and it won’t be a problem anymore.”

One of the most important words in my vocabulary became the word “process”.

It helped me develop methods, systems and tools that deliver structure.

Mastery of my processes led to monumental growth as a financial advisor.

My life changed when I created my first color-coded Annual Roadmap™ in 1981.

I transitioned from an extreme workaholic, to taking 180 days off each year.

My Dream Week™ created structure for specific weekly sales activities.

My 90 Day Wonder™ helped me structure a clear 90-Day strategy.

My 5 Key Principles of Growth™ helped me build two great businesses.

Use structure as a way to focus and achieve better results.

Here’s another insight for you.

I learned that structure helps harness my Attention Deficit Disorder.

While I still have a very busy mind, structure helps me focus for short bursts of time.

For a 90 minute time block, I reset an egg timer every 9 minutes to keep me on track.
